Priti Patel MP has been unanimously readopted by local Conservative Party members to stand as their candidate at the next General Election. Since 2010 Priti has won all four General Elections, including winning over 32,000 votes at the last General Election in 2019, which was two-thirds of all votes cast in the constituency.
A spokesman for the Witham Constituency Conservative Association said:
"Priti is an outstanding Member of Parliament who has been a strong voice for communities across the Witham constituency. Over the last 13 years she has fought tirelessly for her constituents, campaigned for better services for this part of Essex and always puts the interests of her constituents first. She is a dedicated and hard working Member of Parliament who is respected by her constituents for the values she promotes and the work she does. Conservatives in Witham are proud of her record of service and we look forward to campaigning for her re-election."
Speaking after her re-adoption Priti commented:
"It's a great honour to be asked to stand again by local Conservative Party members. Our members and activists are the heart and soul of our Party and I am grateful for the trust that they have put in me."
"Representing the Witham constituency is a privilege and I am pleased to be able to fight another General Election campaign with a fantastic team of members, activists and supporters."
