Priti Patel, the Conservative Party Parliamentary Candidate for Witham, welcomes record level of apprenticeship creation in Witham. Since the Conservatives came to Government in 2010, there has been an average of 60 new apprenticeship starts in the Witham constituency each month, which is more than double the rate in the final five years of the last Labour Government. Priti commented:
“The Conservative Party is committed to on giving our children and young people the opportunity to get on in life; the tools they need to succeed and achieve their full potential.”
“On average, two people start their career as an Apprentice every day in Witham. This is double Labour’s appalling record. This unprecedented rate means more of our children and young people have got local jobs whilst also achieving vital qualifications than ever before.”
“As we leave the EU, apprentice skills will be vital for our future as we strike out across the world and play our part as a truly global Britain. The Conservatives are committed to ensuring our young people achieve high-paid, high-skilled jobs in a Britain of the future. I am working with local colleges like Colchester Institute who recently announced plans to open a STEM Innovation Centre in Braintree after receiving £5 million from the Government.”
“Other candidates will talk about education and jobs but it is only the Conservative Party who are delivering a strong record locally, giving our children and grandchildren a brighter future in the new opportunities that await us as we begin our journey to leave the EU.”
