Witham MP, Priti Patel, met with the Rural Community Council of Essex today at their offices in Feering to discuss support for rural communities.
At the meeting, Priti discussed the projects the Community Council has been supporting in her constituency, Neighbourhood Plans, affordable housing, and future rural development funding.
Following the meeting, Priti said:
“The Rural Community Council of Essex does fantastic work locally supporting our rural communities and I was delighted to meet with them to discuss some of the projects they have been supporting in my constituency.
“It is important that we protect our green spaces and countryside and ensure that rural communities are more involved in local planning and development matters.
“I will continue to work closely with the Community Council and press for further Government investment to secure the future prosperity of our rural communities in Essex.”
Nick Shuttleworth, Executive Director at RCCE said:
“RCCE is a registered charity working to help rural communities secure a thriving and sustainable future. We really appreciate the interest Priti shows in our work and it was great to have the opportunity to discuss with her issues such as affordable housing, planning and social isolation that matter to people who live and work in the rural areas of her constituency and throughout Essex.”
