Our Priorities are YOUR Priorities
We are both long-standing residents of Kelvedon & Feering and passionate about making our two villages even better places to live. If we’re fortunate enough to be elected in May, we will continue to work to improve traffic volumes through the ward. Since 2015, we have been closely involved in the developing plans to widen the A12 and we will continue to work with National Highways and Essex County Council to maximise the traffic benefits, considerably reducing through traffic congestion and pollution in Kelvedon & Feering. We will use the Kelvedon and Feering Neighbourhood Plans and the Braintree District Local Plan to oppose inappropriate development in the two villages and secure better community infrastructure commitments from developers. We will also work with Priti Patel MP to
oppose unwanted proposals for new pylons, campaigning for an off-shore solution instead. Our Conservative-controlled District Council already provides high quality services while delivering value for money, and a vote for us will see this continue. Residents will still be able to rely on regular bin collections and we will support the Council’s ambition to achieve a 75% recycling figure by 2030. With crime rates 38% below the national average, we will work hard to keep instances of crime and anti-social behaviour low. We are already working closely with Essex Police to provide regular, up to date information and prevention advice and to increase officer visibility locally.
India Jayatillake

In that time, she has been closely involved with the creation of the new Kelvedon Neighbourhood Plan, providing protections for our village against future inappropriate development. India has also been involved with several local campaigns, such as saving Kelvedon Library and working to prioritise public footpaths in order to improve walking access to our green spaces.
